Tallahassee, Florida – While the fall semester is underway, the ITA has released its pre-season rankings and qualifiers for the US Championships. Vic Allen and Petra Hule are ranked 20e in the doubles nation and the pair qualified for a berth in the championships. In singles newcomer Lesedi Jacobs, a transfer from Kentucky, is ranked No.71 and Hule No.125. Jacobs is also a replacement for the US ITA Championships.
Hule and Allen have teamed up in seven games this spring, including a victory over the Gator’s 26e-classed pair of doubles. The pair were part of 26 doubles wins last season and combined for 31 singles wins. Hule posted a 16-3 singles record and ended the season with a nine-game winning streak. She was 9-1 in the ACC and posted a 14-1 mark in the four and five spots for FSU.
Jacobs spent his junior season in the UK playing on line two in singles before moving up to line 1 when the Wildcats moved on to SEC play. Jacobs was 3-0 on Court 1 in conference and an 8-3 record in singles doubles on the first two rows. In doubles, Jacobs was 11-1 in doubles matches and a perfect 4-0 in SEC game. Overall, she was 14-7 in singles and 21-2 in doubles.
