Conor McGregor has sued a few tennis players, including Novak Djokovic in 2021, for their complaints to follow certain protocols ahead of the Australian Open. ‘The Notorious’ was aiming for a comeback after a year against Dustin Poirier at UFC 257. And while promoting fights and doing media, he spoke to an Australian publication; The Irishman showed his disappointment with the tennis professionals.

In an interview with The Project, the Irish superstar opened up about his comeback, his stylish arrival in Abu Dhabi, and more. During the interview, the host spoke about the mess around the Australian Open as 72 players had to go through a 14-day quarantine to compete in the AO. Novak Djokovic among a few other players was reluctant to follow protocols and had requests.

McGregor shared his thoughts on the matter and didn’t hold back.
“I’m actually surprised here that tennis players are kicking,” said the Irishman while offering tennis athletes to “correct” themselves.
The biggest star in MMA history added, “To be able to participate in such a prestigious tennis tournament or any tournament, a two-week lockout before if you know how to welcome it with open arms.”
“I urge tennis players to pull themselves together”, McGregor added. Moreover, he showed disappointment saying, “Pro athletes complain about a bit of isolation? You know, come on guys.

In McGregor’s MMA career, his prior losses have come via submission. In the UFC, he lost to Nate Diaz and Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 196 and UFC 229 by submission. Additionally, in his pre-UFC career, he also suffered two submission losses.
Later, McGregor also lost to Poirier in their trilogy fight that same year at UFC 264. This loss came via doctor stoppage. The Irish superstar is currently looking to return to the Octagon this year.
