Pac-12 Tennis Players of the Week – March 24, 2022

MAN TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Stefan Dostanic, Jr., USC (Irvine, Calif.)

• Playing at the No. 1 singles position and adding to his 12-match singles winning streak, Dostanic went undefeated in singles and doubles in three doubles matches last week, including two against ranked teams (No. 15 Texas, Arizona State, No. 24 Arizona).
• Partnered with Bradley Frye, the 14th-ranked doubles duo stunned Texas’ No. 15 Braswell/Huang to claim a 6-4 victory on the first court.
• In singles, Dostanic took a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Micah Braswell, 38th in Texas.
• Then beat 94th-ranked ASU’s Fabian Salle (6-1, 6-2) in USC’s win over Arizona State (4-3).
• Later in the week, Dostanic and Frye took a 5-0 lead in the breaker and earned the first point in their 7-6(3) win over Arizona’s Hoeyeraal/Ziverts.

FEMALE TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Connie Ma, Fr., STANFORD (Dublin, Calif.)

• Playing No. 1 in singles, No. 11-ranked Ma earned a straight-sets (6-1, 6-2) victory over Antonia Balzert of Colorado, helping the No. 24-ranked Cardinal to a 6-1 victory over the Buffs in their second conference outing of the season.
• Playing No. 1 in doubles and partnered with Angelica Blake, the No. 7-ranked doubles duo gave the Cardinal a 1-0 lead against Utah with a win over No. 54-ranked Dush/Goncharova (6- 3).
• Then won Stanford’s game against Utah on the first court, with a loss to Utah’s No. 97-ranked Linda Huang (6-0, 6-2), while improving to 6-1 on the season against nationally ranked opponents and 6-0 against Pac-12 opponents.
