Two Indian table tennis players selected for prestigious ITTF Hopes Team

Future Indian paddlers Hansini Mathan Rajan and Parth Prabhakar have been named to the prestigious ITTF Prospect Team.

The Espoirs Brigade allows 10 girls and 10 boys under the age of 12, accompanied by their coaches, to continue the Espoirs course, offering them the possibility of participating in at least one follow-up activity in the first half of 2022.

In order to maintain their positions in the Espoirs team, all selected and potential players must perform consistently in regular training as well as in international events such as the WTT Youth Series.

The Player’s World Ranking will also be taken into consideration in assessing a player’s continued status on the U23 Team. Later, the ITTF will announce the selection of 4 girls and 4 boys to continue the U23 journey as U23 team.

In December 2021, playing in the U-12 category, reigning Cadet National Champion Hansini, defeated Syrian Hend Zaza 11-6, 11-8, 6-11, 11-6 in the ITTF Table Tennis Final Match Hopes and Challengers. tournament in Amman.

Parth Prabhakar was India’s entry in the men’s singles event which was won by Iranian Komeil Niknejad Divshali.

Every year, the ITTF Prospects program brings together a global team and gives opportunities to young players from countries that are not expected to make the podium in major global events.
