Southgate Anderson athletes win Downriver League 3-sport varsity crest – Reuters Sports News

Southgate Anderson recently paid tribute to its athletes who won the Downriver League Three Sport Varsity Athlete patch for the 2021-22 season.

The DRL distributes the patch each spring to student-athletes who participate in three or more varsity sports during a school year for the first time in their sports career.

Anderson’s honored seniors were Alivia Ensign (secondary cheering, competitive cheering, track); Brody Grafton (football, rowing/crew, track); and Andrew Parkham (tennis, basketball, golf).

The juniors who earned the tri-sport crest were Brianna Hales (cross country, figure skating, track); Shelby Plummer (golf, basketball, tennis); Anysia Correa (cross country, wrestling, track); A’mari Johnson-Wheeler (soccer, bowling, track); Andrew Gates (football, basketball, track); Christopher Wrona (soccer, bowling, track); and Ella Petrarca (golf, basketball, softball).

Two sophomores won the tri-sport crest with Sparrow Centeno (cross country, track, soccer) and Alexis Hall (sideline coaching, competitive cheer, tennis).

Freshmen Marina Borg (cross country, track, football) were also recognized; Hunter Druchniak (football, soccer, athletics); Jackson Sage (football, wrestling, track); and Gabby Jones (swimming, secondary cheering, competitive cheering).
