MAN TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jonas Ziverts, Sr., ARIZONA (Solna, Sweden)

  • Playing No. 1 in singles against the University of San Diego, Arizona’s senior captain defeated No. 1-ranked singles player August Holmgren in three sets (4-6, 6-4, 6-4).
  • Ziverts started the third set against Holmgren with a 4-1 lead, then beat Holmgren at 5-4 to win the match.
  • The senior captain contributed to the Cats’ five singles points to earn the win over USD 5-2.

FEMALE TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Lexi Ryngler, Jr., ARIZONA (Calabasas, Calif.)

  • Won a trio of singles and doubles matches to help Arizona to three doubles match wins.
  • The junior helped the Wildcats to a pair of 7-0 double sweeps on Monday with a No. 3 singles win over New Mexico State’s Mingfang Zhu (6-3, 6-1) and a No. 4 in the field against Thassane Abrahim of UTEP (6- 3, 6-2).
  • Added doubles win #1 against the Miners and doubles triumph #3 against the Aggies.
  • On Saturday, Ryngler defeated Nnena Nadozie (6-1, 6-1) on Court No. 3 and added a second doubles victory to help the Wildcats to a 4-2 victory and inflict San Diego State his first loss of the spring. season.
