MALE TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Peter Makk, Fr., USC (Budapest, Hungary)

  • Won three singles matches at No. 4 court as USC went 3-1 last week, including 2-1 against Top 15 opponents.
  • Won USC game against Portland (4-3) by eliminating Nikolas Tvedt (6-2, 6-2).
  • Was 2-0 in singles No. 4 in the ITA National Team Indoor Championship.
  • Key in USC’s 4-1 win over No. 15 Mississippi in the ITA National Team Indoor Championship consolation tie with a straight-set win over Lukas Engelhardt (6-1 , 6-2).
  • The freshman beat 49th-ranked Stanford No. 8 Max Basing in USC’s 4-1 win over the Cardinal in a consolation game at the ITA Indoors.

FEMALE TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Connie Ma, Fr., STANFORD (Dublin, Calif.)

  • Playing at No. 1 in singles, broke four set points in the second set of her match against Saint Mary’s to defeat Mariia Kozyreva, ranked No. 36 in the nation (6-4, 7-6 (6)).
  • The victory improved Ma to 15-4 on aggregate and was his third victory over a ranked opponent this season.
