Leylah Fernandez, who “wore Asics in her US Open final that killed giants” last year, was among many tennis players who switched brands in 22 because she was “seen wearing of the Lululemon” during her matches in Adelaide, according to TENNIS.com’s Stephanie Livaudais. Also wearing Lululemon, Daria Gavrilova, who is “also leaving Asics”. Longtime K-Swiss endorser Ajla Tomljanovic wears a new outfit featuring “head-to-toe” Penguin logos, marking the US-based brand’s “first step into tennis”. Sofia Kenin, who won the 2020 Australian Open, is in Adelaide “apparently without a kit sponsor” after three years with Fila. She wears a “white skirt and visor with a contrasting orange top” from the Free People Movement. On the men’s side, Chilean Cristian Garin has ‘signed a kit deal’ with Emporio Armani after his nearly decade-long relationship with Adidas ended. This comes as Matteo Berrettini signed with Boss after leaving Lotto and Gaël Monfils has terminated his contracts with Asics and Wilson to sign with French brand Artengo from Decathlon (TENNIS.com, 1/6).
