“DDA will command the sports complex in Dwarka Sector-17 this year and although it is not a center of excellence, it will offer many facilities,” a DDA official said on condition of anonymity.

The future sports complex of Dwarka Sector-17 is spread over an area of ​​23.7 acres and the approximate cost of the project is Rs 41 crore. The outdoor facilities at the resort will include cricket, hockey and football pitches, tennis and volleyball courts, an ice rink, jogging track, etc.
Along with a swimming pool and gymnasium, indoor facilities will be available for badminton, taekwondo, squash, boxing, cue sports, aerobics, and more. Other amenities will include underground parking, a cafeteria and coffee shop.
The official said four Centers of Excellence, in Dwarka Sectors 8, 19 and 23, and one in Rohini Sector 33, would be ready next year. “DDA is also developing a golf course at Dwarka Sector-24 which will also be opened next year,” he said.
The official also said that works have been awarded for the construction of an “integrated” international sports complex in Sector 19B of Dwarka, which will also be his first sports complex to be built, operated and maintained under the model of private public partnership.
He said the Centers of Excellence where athletes will receive intensive and advanced training to prepare for the Commonwealth, Asian and Olympic Games. DDA will build a total of seven such centers in the capital, each of them focusing on different disciplines.
While Dwarka Sector-23 Center of Excellence will focus on Hockey and Football, Rohini Sector-33 Center will be for Aquatics, Dwarka Sector-19 for Tennis and Shooting, and Dwarka Sector-8 for wrestling, weightlifting, boxing, judo. and kabaddi.
The Dwarka Sector 19-B Integrated Sports Complex, the largest DDA sports complex to date, will be constructed on a 52-acre site and will include a 7,000-seat capacity football stadium and a football pitch. training, with facilities that meet FIFA standards.
