Kids can enjoy their game of tennis at Sun Valley | Special Sections

Tennis fans can open in the summer as juniors, and youth tennis camps are returning to Sun Valley Resort.

The annual series of summer tennis camps will cover the entire summer through June, July and August. Previously sponsored by Nike, Sun Valley Resort will host 10 camps this summer. All camps will be held at the Sun Valley Resort Tennis Center, with sessions beginning June 6.

“We look forward to another fun-filled summer with tennis programs designed to keep kids and adults active,” Sun Valley Tennis Director Stephanie Schmidt said. “Our junior tennis camps are offered to children. Children receive special attention with exercises and matches in small groups. Our day campers can even try their hand at pickleball every day. We like to develop skills that will serve as a solid foundation to enjoy these sports throughout life.

The tennis camp will offer full days – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – and half days – 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. – for boys and girls ages 6-17 with half-day options or a full day depending on age and ability. The number of places is limited to 25 children per session.

Half-day sessions are $450 with snacks included, with full-day sessions $650 with a snack and lunch included. Each camp participant will also receive Sun Valley camp gear.

The Sun Valley Tennis Camp will focus on developing a love of tennis in a fun and friendly environment.

This exciting program for beginners to advanced players will include individual skill development, on and off court instruction, physical fitness, footwork, speed and agility, active practice and supervised play experience and game. These junior camps combine technical instruction and drill practice from top coaches and scrimmages designed for all skill levels.

Sun Valley Resort Camp will also follow local COVID-19 safety protocols.
